The International Confederation of Principals (ICP) is a global association of school leadership organisations.
ICP was founded in 1991, and operates through a council with up to three delegates from each member organisation. The Council meets three times in a two-year period and elects an executive committee to work with and support the elected president of ICP, while an executive secretary services both executive and council. ICP has over 40 members, each member being a major independent organisation that supports the work of school leaders. The ICP represents School Leader associations across five continents; it is non-political and secular and gives a powerful international voice to School Principals. Membership is open to any organisation of School Leaders whose constitution contains nothing contrary to the constitution of the ICP.
The ICP Constitution has the following objectives:
i.
Promoting and improving educational outcomes globally
ii. Promoting the undertaking of research which will be of benefit to
the education community generally.
iii. Promoting the exchange of people, sharing of ideas, dissemination
of research findings and broad distribution of professional publications
iv. Advocating for and encouraging the development of more significant resources
for education which in turn fosters international understanding and goodwill,
respect for human rights and dignity across all races and cultures

increasing their capacity to access and benefit from education
vi. Actively developing and promoting robust pedagogical and leadership
initiatives which have a capacity to increase system, school and individual
