Symposium on the Identification & Development of School Principals

In line with the theme of the conference, Charting the New Education Landscape, and with the knowledge that we would have 1200 principals, school leaders and educationists from 30 and more different education systems, it was felt that a symposium to share on how different countries and systems identify and develop school principals would be of interest to all delegates.

We have invited 4 panellists from Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom to share accordingly. They are Mr Michael Benson, Executive Director of the Ontario Principals' Council, Mr Peter Gall, President of the Secondary Principals' Association of New Zealand, Ms Seah Jiak Choo, Advisor, Ministry of Education, Singapore and its former Director-General of Education, and Ms Jane Lees, President of the Association of School and College Leaders in the UK.

Between them, they combine a wide spectrum of countries with different degrees of devolution and significantly different approaches to valuing and hence developing the role of the school principals.
