Showcasing the best of our cultural and performing arts co-curricular groups from various Singapore schools, the ICP 2009 Welcome Concert marked the first of several vibrant social events that were offered to convention delegates.

Held at the Esplanade Concert Hall, the concert comprised a full hour of back-to-back performances of different forms and genres by various groups. These included dance performances representing the different ethnic groups in Singapore as well as several music pieces by the Band and Choir.

The Welcome Concert was graced by the attendance of His Excellency President S R Nathan, who received a ceremonial cheque of $50,000 from Mrs Belinda Charles, President of the Academy of Principals (Singapore), as part of the fraternity's contributions to The President's Challenge.

Convention delegates were also entitled to several after-concert dinner options around the area, of which discounts were given so to allow delegates to experience a taste of local cuisine.
